Welcome to Ryca Fitness, where I'm thrilled to share my journey and insights on navigating a healthy lifestyle as a wife, mom, and oncology clinical pharmacist. Originally from rural northeast Indiana, I now call central Kentucky home with my husband, energetic toddler, and another little one on the way due in October 2024. As a Christian, my faith is the cornerstone that guides me through life's adventures, including my passion for fitness.
My path into fitness blogging began during my pharmacy student days, amidst constant relocations for clinical rotations, board exams, residency planning, and wedding preparations. This period of flux reinforced the importance of maintaining physical health amid demanding schedules. My athletic journey started early with competitive swimming from age 5 through college, where I also pursued long-distance running and ultimately found a lasting affinity for weightlifting during my years in college swimming.
Transitioning from competitive sports to weightlifting highlighted the transformative power of strength training on my body composition and overall well-being. Over time, my fitness goals evolved through different life stages—from strength maintenance during pharmacy residency to navigating pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and now a second pregnancy.
